Where are my session videos?

A lot of you have been asking when the session videos from DrupalCamp Austin 2009 will be made available online. Unfortunately, this is a lengthy process which will take a few weeks to complete. The sessions were filmed in HD, which means it takes about 7 hours to convert the raw footage of just one session into MPEG format. Then we will need to take that 7GB MPEG file and convert it into a format that will be friendly to upload to the web. So with 20 videos to process, we hope you’ll be patient while we work our brittle fingers to the bone.

Do you have any recommendations on where we should host the videos? Previous DrupalCons/DrupalCamps have uploaded the videos to the Internet Archive. The biggest advantage of the IA is that it gives end-users access to download the source video files for easy offline viewing. Of course, we’re also big fans of sites like Vimeo, which offer a more user-friendly and social experience.

What matters most to you in online video viewing?

don’t know what finishing format you want and if you guys have any budget left, but these bad boys (http://www.elgato.com/elgato/na/mainmenu/products/Turbo264HD/product1.en…) are pretty great at speeding up h.264 encoding quite a bit.

Thanks for doing this! I’m looking forward very much to brushing up on things with the videos.

Hello,
Are these session videos ever going to be posted, or have they been put on the back burner due to time and resource constraints?

Do you need some help in getting the job done? We are a community are we not? We all help each other when it comes to this topic “Drupal” right. I’m in if it would help?

Wait no longer! We’ve started uploading videos to Vimeo (http://vimeo.com/album/173495)
